Player Code of Conduct

General Guidelines:

Players are expected to conduct themselves at all times in a manner, which is in keeping with representing Lenawee United FC, and will not bring discredit upon the club.

Obligations toward the Game

  1. Be a good sport. Lift your teammates up with positivity and respect your opponents.

  2. Set a positive example for others, particularly young players and supporters.

  3. Give maximum effort and strive for the best possible performance during a game, even if the team is in a position where the desired result has already been achieved.

  4. Concentrate on playing soccer and on affecting the outcome of the game with your best effort.

  5. Control your temper and most of all, resist the temptation to retaliate when you feel you have been wronged.

  6. Know and abide by the Laws, rules and spirit of the game, and the competition rules for leagues, Cups and tournaments. Accept success and failure, victory and defeat, equally.

 

Obligation towards your Team

  1. Work equally hard for your team as for yourself.

  2. Lift your teammates up with positivity.

  3. Make every effort consistent with Fair Play and the Laws of the Game to help the team performing at its highest level.

  4. Resist any influence that might, or might be seen to, bring into question commitment to the team.

  5. Resist any temptation to take banned substances or use banned techniques.

  6. Own your own development. Practices and games are beneficial but what you do when you are not at the events can help you go from good to great.

  7. Show up at each practice and game.

 

Obligations towards Opponents

  1. Safeguard the physical fitness of opponents, avoid violence and rough play, and help injured opponents.

 

Respect towards the Referees/Team Officials

  1. Accept the decision of the Referee without protest.

  2. Avoid words or actions that may mislead a Referee.

  3. Show respect towards Referee.

  4. Abide by the instructions of their Coach and Team Officials, provided they do not contradict the spirit of this Code.

  5. Show respect towards the Team Officials of opposing teams.

 

Code of Conduct Discipline Rules:

1. Substance use and/or possession thereof (drugs, alcohol, and/or tobacco) is cause for immediate dismissal from the club.  Note: It is your responsibility to prevent situations from occurring and avoid situations that occur. You should leave any time substances are present! You must take total responsibility for your actions.

2. Irresponsible and disrespectful behavior is cause for dismissal from the program.

3. Destruction of property or violation of State and Federal laws is cause for dismissal from the program.

4. Failure to comply with all team rules (curfew, attendance, dress code, schedules, etc.) may be cause for disciplinary action. Persistent failure will be cause for dismissal from the program and could affect the player’s future participation.

I understand the emotions of competitive sports and my role in these situations. I will respect my opponents, coaches, referees, and other teammates with integrity. I will obey the laws of the game and play within the spirit of the game. I will not use any vulgar or hostile language during competition or training. I will respect the property of others, adhere to the rules and guidelines as specified here or by the Coach/Administrator and understand that observance of State and Federal laws are required for participation in this program.  I will allow the coach to do his/her job without interference. If I have concerns with strategy, tactics, or coaching decisions, I will address those concerns with my coach directly.
